Work Place Safety is nothing to mess with...

SAFETY TIPS

According to 2017 Statistics from National Safety Council, There were 5,147 work-place deaths due to improper safety. That is equivalent to an average of 14 deaths a day. The worst part is that they all could have been prevented! Taking preventative action can spare workers needless pain and suffering.

Of the deaths, 20% were in the field of construction. More than half of these deaths fall into the category of the "Fatal Four":

  • Falls (359 of 899 deaths 39.9%)
  • Electrocution (74 of 899 8.2%)
  • Struck by Object (73 of 899 8.1%)
  • Caught-in between (39 of 899 4.3%)

Strides are being made in Work-place Safety. Throughout the last four decades, deaths are down from 38 deaths a day in 1970 to 14 a day in 2017. If we continue to not only maintain these standards but also intentionally improve the standards that are given to us, we can continue to reduce this number and achieve a country-wide goal of zero.

At LCU, we strive to be a business who is on the leading front of Safety. Nothing is worse for a family or company than the loss of someone they care about. We will always take safety first, with absolutely no compromise.
